The Elon Graduation Party we planned was such a success! The party was hosted by nine families who wanted to honor their special child in a special way. The party took place in a backyard setting which gave us the opportunity to put a new spin on the backyard bar-b-que. What made this event special was that we wanted to achieve a rustic chic theme with a touch of elegance highlighting the school colors of burgundy and gold. In honoring the southern tradition of the school, southern food was served, including bar-b-que and all the fixin’s. The southern style bar-b-que was the biggest hit at the event, and the guests could simply not get enough. We were also able to achieve this unique theme through the atmosphere and activities at the event. Country music could be heard playing in the background while the guests could be found playing the popular lawn game, “cornhole,” or socializing with friends and family.
Using the unusual school colors was of the upmost importance when implementing this event. Gold was used as the primary color where the maroon was brought in as an accent color through the chair sashes and the beautiful flower bouquets on the table. Bouquets were custom made with sunflowers and maroon daisies to complete the phoenix motif.
The Graduation Party was a special event that was enjoyed by all. We were able to put together an elegant backyard bar-b-que that lived up to everyone’s expectations!
