Pomander balls are an up-and-coming trend in wedding floral designs. These balls can be created with any type of sturdy flower to match your wedding colors and theme. Pomander balls can be created in a few easy steps using flowers, ribbon, and any size foam ball!
Step #1 Tie a ribbon around the foam ball and create a loop at the end of the ribbon.
Step #2 Soak the foam ball in water so your flowers will be hydrated
Step # 3 Cut the stems of your flowers at an angle so they will be easier to poke into the foam ball and will be easier to hydrate
Step # 4 Insert your flowers straight into the foam ball and cover the foam leaving no gaps
Step # 5 Slip another piece of ribbon through the other piece that you already looped. You can use this to hang it from something or you can choose to tie a pretty bow at the top.
Some brides use them at their wedding ceremonies and others use them to decorate their receptions. Pomander balls are most commonly used by hanging them on the aisle chairs at the ceremony, carried down the aisle by flower girls or bridesmaids, and hung in trees or from venue ceilings.
